日本コンピュータ外科学会のロゴマークが平成13年度のコミュニケーションデザイン部門のグッドデザイン賞を受賞しました．本ロゴマークは名古屋市立大学大学院芸術工学研究科の川崎和男教授およびその研究室のメンバーでデザインしていただいたものです．

概要：
「学会活動の先進性・国際性のアピールを目的とした日本コンピュータ外科学会のシンボルマーク制定における，シンボルマークデザインおよび一連のアプリケーション展開までのデザイン提案を行った．提案のうちシンボルマーク，アプリケーション内のポスター，サイン，ネームプレートが実際に施行，公開された．」
デザイナーからのコメント：
「新世紀に向けて，デザインが更にその活動の領域を広げていくことは間違いない．それはデザインが，未来を美しく形作っていくための手法となり得るからである．今回の活動は「学会」という学際的な場における デザインアプローチの希有な事例であり，クロスオーバー化する未来を見据えた活動であると言える．デザイン的な美度性は勿論，領域を越えた活動という社会的意義性など総合面において先進的提案になりえたと自負している．」
