マルチメディア外科研究会と統合のお知らせ

　マルチメディア外科研究会（会長 杉町圭蔵　先生）は，今日の医療工学の著しい発展と内視鏡外科の世界的な普及を背景に，マルチメディアを積極的に医療に導入して，次世代に相応しい新しい外科学の発展を促進し，産学官共同で研究開発するための情報交換の場として，また次世代の若い諸君の教育や，新しいマルチメデイア外科学の普及を目的として平成１１年に発足致しました．本研究会はこれまで日本外科学会と同時期に同じ会場で開催されてきました．マルチメディア外科研究会のこれまでの活動等については以下のホームページを御参照下さい．

　今後次世代の新しい外科学を発展させていくにはマルチメディア技術を積極的に医療に導入し，医学，工学の連携を計り，産学官が協力して開発に取り組んでいくことが重要であるという研究会の方針が，日本コンピュータ外科学会の目指している方向とも一致することから，協力および統合の話が進められてきました．
　この統合により，日本外科学会会員の多くの方が日本コンピュータ外科学会へ入会されることになると同時に，今後当学会のマルチメディアに関連する研究開発がますます活発となり，外科領域への適用が進められていくことが期待されます．
